Aging Gracefully Challenge - Day 13 - Fasting Negative Thoughts about Ourselves

The past few days, we’ve been looking at “brain health” because according to 1 Corinthians 2:16 we have the mind of Christ. Today we will look at how fasting negative thoughts about ourselves helps us have a healthy brain which in turn help us have a healthy body.

Fasting Negative Thoughts About Ourselves: Yesterday we looked at how autoimmune disfunctions can cause the body to attack itself. We are going to look more at this today because there are several new studies now suggesting that Alzheimer’s may be an autoimmune disease. And we do not want Alzheimer’s or any other autoimmune diseases. As mentioned yesterday, an autoimmune disease occurs when the body begins attacking itself. From a spiritual perspective, as we attack ourselves through our thoughts, the body begins to attack us physically. But we can change. We can forgive and love ourselves and it’s critically important to our health that we do! We must forgive ourselves completely and fast all thoughts of guilt, shame, fear, victimization, drivenness, performance, self-hatred, and self-rejection. You may have been rejected in the past, but God will never reject you We must think about ourselves the way God thinks about us.

Jeremiah 31:3 I have loved you with an everlasting love!

Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is with you; He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.

1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!

Ephesians 3:18- 19 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Day 13 Challenge – A Healthy Brain 1) Today’s Challenge is to meditate for 10 minutes on how much God loves you. The goal is to experience the love of God and to believe that He has a wonderful life ahead for you as you age gracefully.
