During the past 9 days, we’ve looked at the following things that are spiritual roots or spiritual blocks to disease. We looked at:
Day 1 – How separation from God, His Word and His Love, Separation from Others, Separation from Ourselves can cause disease
Day 2 – How sin separates us from God and His healing
Day 3 – How our thinking impacts our health and the importance of believing God
Day 4 – Thoughts that causes the chemistry in our body to malfunction - Fear
Day 5 – Thoughts that cause our immune system to attack healthy cells – Guilt, Shame and not loving ourselves
Day 6 – Thoughts that can cause heart attacks, cancer, increase in cholesterol and blood pressure, anxiety, depression and stress - Bitterness
Day 7 – Unforgiveness as a block to healing
Day 8 – Pride as a block to healing
Day 9 – Other Blocks – Entitlement, not seeking God, not caring for our bodies, sexual sins, criticizing and complaining.
But today, we are going to look at two things that can keep us healthy – a happy heart and praying with authority.
Praying with Authority – Many times when we pray for someone, our prayers are prayers of petition (i.e., God, please heal my friend.) But sometimes, Jesus spoke to a sickness and with authority commanded it to leave. (Luke 4:38-39, Mark 7:32-25, Matthew 8:3) This is one of the ways that Jesus ministered healing. And because Jesus is our example, in His Name, this should be one of the ways that we minister healing as well. https://bornofspirit.net/jesus-healings-speak-to-the-problem/
A Happy Heart – Proverbs 17:22 A happy heart is good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing,
But a broken spirit dries up the bones. In Philippians 4:4, Paul says “Rejoice in the Lord always… and Nehemiah 8:10 tells us why “…the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Laughter can decrease stress, decrease cortisol and have a positive effect on dopamine and serotonin. Laughter therapy is effective and scientifically supported as a therapy. https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/stress-management/in-depth/stress-relief/art-20044456
Day 10 Challenge 1: If you have been petitioning God for an illness that is not improving, pray a prayer of authority. The Adversary by Mark Bubeck is an excellent book for those wanting more information.
Day 10 Challenge 2: Watch one or more of the Christian comedians listed below. Try to laugh for between five to ten minutes.
