Aging Gracefully Challenge - Day 22 Staying Attractive - Plastic Surgery and Skin Care

Plastic Surgery – I think here we need a “no judgement zone”. Just as beauty can be either good or bad, my experience is that plastic surgery can be either good or bad.

The Bad: My husband noticed celebrities sometimes overdid plastic surgery, so he doesn’t like it. For some women, there was no end to it. And some try to look like they are 25 when they’re 65. This would be a lie. We have seasons of life and to age with honesty and integrity, it’s important to know, accept and reflect the beauty of our season.

The Good: In Joel 2:25, God says “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten…”. I noticed that some women who were abused as children (physically, emotionally or sexually) had plastic surgery and they looked better, refreshed and more youthful. As if God was repaying them for the trauma that they went through and the years of innocence that were lost.

Other Options
Facial Exercises:
It makes sense to me to tone the facial muscles like you would any other muscle of the body. Exercise keeps things from sagging. Here is a link to one of my favorite YouTube sites -

Gua Sha Massage: Increases circulation, gets rid of puffiness and inflammation, and helps the lymphatic system. The tools can be purchased on Amazon. And here is a link to a video explaining it-

Derma Rolling: Derma rolling helps tighten the skin and can reduce acne scarring, minimize pores and diminish wrinkles and fine lines. It also helps products absorb more deeply into the skin. The roller is available on Amazon. Here is a YouTube video explaining the technique -

LED Light Therapy Mask: LED light therapy promotes anti-aging effects. Some benefits include an increase in collagen, reduction of wrinkles and improvement in acne, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, scarring and sun damage.
