For the past few days we have been looking at different aspects of wisdom. Today we are looking at the Benefits of Wisdom.
Proverbs lists over 100 benefits of wisdom. Here are just a few
Favor:
Proverbs 3:4 – Wisdom gives favor, good understanding and high esteem in the sight of God and man
Proverbs 8:34 – Wisdom leads to favor from the Lord
Proverbs 12:2- The wise obtains favor from the Lord
Proverbs 14:35 – The wise have the king’s favor
Life:
Proverbs 10:27 - The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord prolongs one’s days
Proverbs 11:19 – Being steadfastly righteousness attains life
Proverbs 14:27 – Worshiping God is a fountain of life and one avoids the snares of death
Proverbs 3:16 – Length of days is in her right hand and in her left are riches an honor
Protection:
Proverbs 10:29 – Following God’s way gives strength and protection
Proverbs 11:8 – The righteous are delivered out of trouble
Proverbs 12:21 - No [actual] evil, misfortune, or calamity shall come upon the righteous
Proverbs 4:6 – Wisdom will keep, defend, protect and guard us
Understanding:
Proverbs 10:32 – The wise know what is acceptable to say
Proverbs 16:22 – Understanding is a wellspring of life
Proverbs 15:32 – Because they accept reproof they get understanding
Proverbs 8:14 – Wisdom has counsel and knowledge, understanding, might and power
Blessings:
Proverbs 10:6 – The wise are blessed
Proverbs 11:10 – Things go well for the righteous
Proverbs 11:23 – The desires of the wise brings only good
Proverbs 14:20 – Loving kindness, mercy, loyalty and faithfulness comes to them
Happiness:
Proverbs 15:30 – They are happy and healthy
Proverbs 10:28 - The hope of the righteous (the upright, in right standing with God) is gladness
Proverbs 12:20 - For the counselors of peace there is joy
Proverbs 10: 1 - Wisdom makes your parents happy
Prosperity:
Proverbs 10:22 – They are truly rich and don’t have to toil for it
Proverbs 10:4 – Through hard work, the wise become wealthy
Proverbs 12:27 - The diligent man gets precious possessions
Proverbs 8:18 – Wisdom has riches and honor, enduring wealth and righteousness
