Aging Gracefully Challenge - Day 6 - Let’s Stay Strong in the Lord!

Yesterday we looked at Caleb and how he had the strength to fulfill his God-given dreams. Today and tomorrow, we will look at what we need to do to increase our strength so that we too can fulfill our God given dreams.

BEING JOYFUL KEEPS YOU STRONG

In Philippians 4:4, the Apostle Paul ways “Rejoice in the Lord always and I will say it again, rejoice!” God also tells us why we need to rejoice in Nehemiah 8:10 “because the joy of the LORD is your strength”. If we want to be strong, we need to be constantly rejoicing in the LORD. Joy keeps us strong both mentally and physically.

Physically - “A joyful heart is good medicine…” Proverbs17:22. Research shows that fear, depression, anger and unforgiveness can lead to diseases such as cancer, arthritis, heart disease and more. My dad used to say, “The body and mind live so close to each other that they catch each other’s diseases.”

Mentally- If we are joyful, we will not be depressed or discouraged when trials come. We will have trials, but as Jesus told us to be joyful in our trials. He said, “In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33. So here we are – cheerful when going through trials and strong as we overcome the obstacles to taking our mountain and fulfilling our dreams.

Day 6 Challenge – Choose joy in the LORD all day today – Joy is fruit of the Holy Spirit. Today’s challenge is to rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS today. So, every second of every minute of every hour that you are awake, be joyful and stay strong.

Also, we have Praus Gifts products for sale that say "Rejoice in the LORD always" because ... "the joy of the LORD is your strength". If you would like a reminder check out the product link below.
