Aging Gracefully Challenge - Day 1 - What Does the World Say vs What Does God Say?

Thanks for checking out our 30 Aging Gracefully Challenge! For the next 30 days we are on a mission to age the way God says we can age.

God says we can:

• Flourish

• Be Productive

• Grow Strong

• Have Spiritual Vitality

All based on a deep, growing relationship with God. Psalm 92:12,14,15

Day 1 – What does the world say?

What our world admires:

• Youth

• Attractiveness

• Intelligence

Daniel 1:4

But God looks at our heart to see if we have a desire for Him. When the prophet Samuel was going to anoint a king, Samuel thought the oldest son would be the one, "But the Lord said to Samuel, Look not on his appearance or at the height of his stature, for I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart." 1 Sam 16:7

But five verses later, David is chosen, and he was handsome, too. It’s possible to be both. "He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the LORD said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one." 1 Sam 16:

HAVING A HEART AFTER GOD – God wants our obedience based on love

Day 1 Challenge – PURPOSE - Be more like God.

Pray for God to help us see at people’s hearts as He does. Pray that we will not value people(or ourselves) according to the world’s values, but by God’s values, a heart that desires Him.
