Day 4 Thoughts that Impact our Health – Fear

Thank you for joining us on our 10 Day Healing Challenge. We are determined to understand Spiritual Roots and Spiritual Blocks of disease.

Just a quick review – Day 1 we learned that separation from God, from others and from ourselves can cause illness. Day 2 we learned that sin that we haven’t confessed and repented of can be a cause of disease because it separates us from God. Day 3 we learned that our thoughts make us who we are and can have a positive or negative impact on our body.

Today we are going to look at fear and what it does to our body. Fear can be a spiritual root of disease. Fear can cause the immune system to be compromised which in turn can cause allergies.

In our bodies, if we live in a constant state of fear, anxiety and stress, the cortisol that is released as part of the “fight or flight” response may exist in excess. Too much cortisol can impact the immune response of the T-cells and B-cells and can cause allergies.

To correct the spiritual root, we need to address the spirit of fear.  2 Timothy 1:7 – God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.  This verse states that fear can be a spirit. And it doesn’t come from God.

It may be that deliverance prayer is needed. Here is a sample prayer. “Dear Father, please forgive me for being fearful and stressed. In the name of Jesus, I tear down the strongholds of Satan against my mind, and I surrender my mind to You, blessed Holy Spirit. I affirm, Dear Father, that You have not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. In the name of Jesus, I rebuke the spirit of fear and command it to leave.  In the name of Jesus, I command my body to return to normal cortisol levels and optimum T and B cell functions. Thank you, dear Father, that you are my helper and I will not be afraid. In Jesus Name, Amen.”

Day 4 Challenge – Find six to ten verses that say “Fear Not!” and read them through six times today. We have a free download of verses against Fear available.
